What Ways Are an Attorney and a Web Designer Bringing Similar Results?

Grabbing a Hand When You Need Help with Web Design.

An Attorney and a Web Designer Walk Into a Bar (joking, but just sounded like the start of a BAD joke)

A Guardian ad litem (G.A.L.) is a Latin term meaning a guardian “for the suit.” This is different than the term guardian being referred to when you hear the phrase “parents or guardians,” when a child is in the custody of an adult who is legally responsible for them, usually until age 18. A G.A.L., on the other hand, is an attorney appointed by a court, typically in an abuse and neglect proceeding, but also family court for child custody and divorce cases, and also when a child has committed a crime. In some instances, the child will have an attorney and a G.A.L, because an attorney for the child will be advocating the child’s wishes—which is not always the child’s best interest.

Where am I going with this? Imagine being in court for the first time, for any number of reasons, as a child. None of them good. It can be scary, overwhelming, and challenging. How comforting for a child to have someone in their corner. Someone with experience. Someone to explain how the proceedings work. And someone to be on their side, expressing their wishes to the court.

WEBSITE DESIGN OVERWHELM

Now, consider the same scary, overwhelming, and challenging feelings of creating your first website, when you have never done it before. Wouldn’t it be comforting to have someone in your corner, with experience? Someone to express your ideas and business in a way that attracts potential clients.

DIY’ing  your own website is always an option, and if you have design experience, or have invested in a course, that may be the way to go.

However, if you are new to web design and find yourself frustrated and agitated, it may be time to ask for help. Make it part of your budget. If you want people to buy from you—you may have to invest in them. Is a free website platform really what you want your first impression to be? Especially if you are asking them to send a chunk of money your way.

WEBSITE DESIGN BUDGET

Set a budget, and then do some research to see what you can afford, and what your options are in your price range. Chances are, you can pay for some help, or start saving. And, if you do not have a couple thousand to drop on a designer, then don’t do it. Templates, courses, workshops, and VIP days are other budget friendly options.

SQUARESPACE WEBSITES

And, I have to mention Squarespace here. I am not an affiliate. I am a Circle Member, which means I have access to forums, and testing and can give you a discount! It is user-friendly, affordable, and intuitive. You do not need to use code, (and if you don’t know what that means, it’s probably best you don’t use it.)

Why not ease some of the overwhelm and hire someone to help you, so you don’t have to do it all by yourself.  Let someone hold your hand in this new venture, that way, you can hold the hand of the person who comes to you, with what you do best.

Of course, this is my blog, so I am going to promote my services. Check out Website in a week.

However, there are templates available for sale, other designers out there, that may fit your style, and courses.  I’d be glad to help you with resources, so let me know how I can help you.

In the meantime, I’d be glad to do a post on something you would like to learn, so let me know what you are working on. I have an idea.
